John wants to have a thorough understanding of the client's desires in wood, tonal characteristics, and the typical venue in which the instrument will be played.

As the luthier's project becomes more defined, the client can select set-up specifications such as brand of tuners, nut width, string spacing and action height. Cost will vary for each custom project. A quote for a custom project is good for three months and a minimum deposit of 10% will be required prior to construction.
